ENCAUSTIC
D’Emilio’s encaustic paintings are grounded by an aesthetic that celebrates the imperfect qualities of natural materials. D’Emilio believes that the cracks and flaws are part of our stories and that imperfections are impermanent. She pairs natural materials like birch tree bark, encaustic (melted beeswax), 22k gold metal leaf, and uses natural pigments that are infused Life’s essential oils made in-house.
